Public Invited to ODE Feedback Session -- POSTPONED due to weather

School district administrators and staff, students, parents and community members from across eastern Oregon are invited to attend a community feedback session about education in Oregon on Wednesday, January 18 at 6:30 PM at Washington Elementary School in Pendleton, located at 1205 SE Byers Avenue. The event is FREE and open to the public.

This event is part of a series of feedback sessions being organized by the Oregon Department of Education across the state for people to give input on Oregon’s State Plan to improve student learning and determine how we can best support our schools to meet the needs of each and every student.

Students Invited to Technology Expo in March

Do you know a student interested in technology? Students across eastern Oregon are invited to the IMESD's annual STEP Technology Expo on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande. This event is FREE and open to all students currently enrolled in 8th through 12th grades who attend one of the IMESD's component school districts.

IMESD Accepts Donation to Children's Rodeo

Swire Coca-Cola and Walmart of Pendleton recently donated $2,159 to the Children's Rodeo. The rodeo is an annual event organized by the IMESD that provides children with special needs the opportunity to be cowboys and cowgirls inside the famous Round-Up Arena. The rodeo is held on the Thursday of Round-Up Week, and celebrated 32 years in 2016.

Chief Stuart Roberts Honored with Statewide Police Award

Pendleton Chief of Police Stuart Roberts was recently awarded the Public Service Award from the Oregon Peace Officers Association (OPOA). This award is given to individuals who distinguish themselves and bring credit to the law enforcement profession by highly credible and unusual acts in the performance of public duties; such acts shall significantly rise above the expected norms of police or community service. Roberts was recognized for his work on the School Security Initiative he has spearheaded across eastern Oregon, through an agreement between the IMESD and the Pendleton Police Department.

Roberts received his award on Friday, November 4 at the annual awards banquet of the Oregon Peace Officers Association at the Spirit Mountain Conference Center in Grand Ronde, Oregon. Mark Mulvihill, superintendent of the IMESD, attended the banquet in support of Chief Roberts.
