FACT Oregon Provides Workshops for Families

FACT Oregon is offering two workshops this fall for individuals with disabilities and their families about transitioning to adulthood. The workshops are offered in partnership with the High Desert ESD, but will be streamed live at the InterMountain ESD building in Pendleton. "Preparing for the Transition to Adulthood Series" are FREE for parents and family members and $25 for professionals and others.

The first workshop on  Thursday, October 20 covers guardianship, the ABLE Act and community developmental disability programs. The second workshop on Thursday, November 17 covers vocational rehabilitation services, work incentives and social security. Both workshops are from 5:30 to 8:00 PM.

Community Invited to Health and Education Town Hall

A broad spectrum of community leaders from Umatilla and Morrow Counties are coming together for the Umatilla Learning Connection Town Hall to talk about improving local health, wellness and education. This event is supported by the Oregon Dairy and Nutrition Council and is only the second town hall of its kind in Oregon. The Town Hall is on Friday, October 14, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Umatilla High School. Flyer (PDF).
