IMESD Plans Student Technology Expo

The InterMountain Technology Department is organizing an exciting opportunity this spring for high school students interested in the technology field. STEP stands for Student Technology Expanded Programs. This event will be on April 27, 2016 at the Pendleton Convention Center and it’s FREE.

STEP is an event that will highlight different career paths and skills needed for careers in the technology sector. Students who attend will be introduced to regional businesses that have jobs in the technology field. Plus, there will be hands-on technical activities.

Any high school student in the IMESD’s service area is eligible to be nominated. The deadline was Friday, March 18, 2016, the nomination form is now closed.

  • Playworks designs curriculum and activities that offer play opportunities during recess, lunch and after school programs. Trained coaches work in schools to run a variety of games and sports, as well as teach techniques in group management, violence prevention and conflict resolution.

Four Eastern Oregon School Districts Receive Major CTE Grants

On Monday, January 11, the Oregon Department of Education announced on its website the awarding of CTE (Career and Technical Education) Revitalization Grants statewide. Four of the IMESD's school districts were awarded substantial grants:

Elgin School District  $378,000

La Grande School District  $379,852

Morrow County School District  $390,745

Pendleton School District  $390,745
