The Ione Girls Middle School Basketball Coach reports directly to the Athletic Director and Principal.

The Ione School District is located in Ione, OR.   We serve a small farming community with approximately 203 students grades K-12 with 100% graduation rate. The community takes pride in their charter school and supported it with a 2,800,000 bond levy.  Renovations are complete and students are benefiting from the improvements.  Ione School District received an “Outstanding” rating on the Oregon Department of Education’s school report card.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the middle school program including summer training, practice schedules and routines.
  • Help provide regular communication with parents/families.
  • Assist in regularly track the academic progress of all student athletes in the program and facilitate necessary supports to ensure their academic eligibility.
  • Cooperate with other school-sponsored sports and encourage athletes to compete in other programs.
  • Help to develop and implement an off-season program for athletics.

All new hired coaches will need to complete the following prior to employment:

  • NFHS Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Card
  • District Fingerprinting/Criminal Check
  • Completion of OSAA Concussion and Steroid online classes
  • Completion of School District and OSAA paperwork
  • Completion of OSAA Heat Acclimatization and Heat Illness Prevention
  • Completion of All District Requirements and employment forms
