SUMMARY

Individual will assist InterMountain Technology Department staff with basic helpdesk and entry-level duties.

We have 3 Positions available. Base: Pendleton Coverage: Intern would be required to attend trainings and meetings in Pendleton, but could work remotely.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the direction of IT staff, assist with updating and managing Drupal web content.

  • Work with IMESD InterMountain Technology department staff to solve specific technology problems.

  • Create, maintain, prioritize, schedule, and communicate a list of tasks to be completed and progress.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers and staff.

  • Continuously update knowledge of methods, industry standards, and equipment used.

  • Collaborate with IT department technology personnel to address requests for service which include but are not limited to:

    • Interpret customer requests for new or different services.

    • Describe technology hardware, software, device features, or functionality.

    • Address specific problems, present solutions, and options.

  • Communicate effectively and politely both in person and on the phone.

  • Handle sensitive and privileged information with the highest degree of confidentiality and integrity.

  • Perform other reasonable duties that may be assigned from time to time to meet the usual and unusual demands placed on the organization.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are a brief representation of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Individual will have a valid driver license and reliable insured transportation for required travel for IMESD business.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Proof of current school enrollment required in an IMESD component school district. One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

 

SKILLS:

  • Basic Computer Skills

  • Basic Internet Search Skills

  • Strong Willingness to Learn

 

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Microsoft Windows

  • Microsoft Office Suite

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any IT employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Carry up to 30 pounds

  • Sit for long periods of time

  • Travel in inclement weather

  • Working in tight quarters, i.e. under tables and desks to trace wires or connect technology equipment
