Is Seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse for

the 17-18 school year

McKay Creek Elementary

Open Till Filled

Start Date: 08/28/17

170 days per year

You will have Summers, Weekends, Spring Break, Winter Break, and major Holidays off

This position will be during school hours


Job Duties:

  • Develop and maintain medical protocols prescribed by physician

  • Communicate with parent and school staff daily on student's chronic health needs.

  • Attend to a student with a tracheostomy to and from school and during school hours 5 days a week.

  • Identify any ongoing needs, and assess for respiratory status and need for suctioning (trach).

  • Assist classroom staff to keep student on task.

  • Ride the bus to pick student up and then again to drop student off to provide assessment of need and suctioning if needed.

  • Monitor meal and snack time for aspiration precautions and adequate nutrition and fluid intake.

  • Assist student with compliance of speaking valve wearing (if still ordered by physician).

  • Provide staff training on emergency procedures and medical protocols.

  • Provide emergency medical assistance in case of health emergency

  • Collaborate with all teaching staff

  • Collaborate with special education case manager

  • Collaborate with IMESD Consulting Nurse

  • Participate in Individualized Education Plan meetings


Licensure Required:

Oregon State Board of Nursing License


Salary & Benefits:

Salary-$30,000.00-40,000.00 Depending on Experience and Qualifications
