IMESD to host regional school board training day

Release Date:
8/15/2011

Nearly 50 school board members and administrators from area school districts will come together to learn more about their roles and responsibilities and have the opportunity to network during the Regional Board Training day Aug. 17 at the Pendleton High School Commons.

The event, which runs from 12-6 p.m., is sponsored by the InterMountain ESD with support from the Oregon School Boards Association and regional school districts. Board members from around the region will have the chance to not only receive quality professional development, but they’ll also be able to intermingle with other board members.

The training will be interesting for both new and veteran board members, who will be able to offer advice and experience to newer members. The training will also help to jump start strategic planning efforts by school boards.

School board members, board secretaries and superintendents still have time to register for this free training. To register, please visit www.imesd.k12.or.us/profdev.
