The InterMountain ESD started the new school year with its annual In-Service on Wednesday, August 15. All of the agency’s 250 employees were in attendance at the Pendleton Convention Center to begin the year together.

Dr. Mark Mulvihill, IMESD Superintendent, started the morning with a welcome to all employees, followed by Board Vice Chair Kelly Bissinger, who wished everyone a successful year of serving students in eastern Oregon.

Each year, In-Service has a theme that the agency carries throughout the rest of the year. This year’s theme is Cultivating Connections, which means cultivating connections between IMESD employees, between the IMESD and its component school districts and between our districts and the students we all serve.

“The IMESD serves a large geographical region, and we are always striving to do a better job in connecting our services with the districts and students we are here for,” said Michele Madril, IMESD Director of Communication.
