More than 400 educators from eastern Oregon attended the Professional Development Summit 2023 on Friday, October 13th on Oregon’s state In-Service Day. The event was organized by Oregon Trail Regional Educator Network (OTREN) and the IMESD.
The Summit was held at Pendleton High School and offered 110 sessions targeted for Behavior Supports, Administrators, Elementary and Secondary teachers in all content areas, Specialty, Music Education, CTE and Technology. The sessions were led by 80 presenters including regional educators, IMESD staff, and community partners.
“We have amazing educators in our region and great things happening in our schools. It’s very impacting to have those same educators present and share with their peers at this event. Likewise, we’re very grateful for the support of our county and community agencies in their willingness to partner with this event,” said Dave Williams, IMESD Director of School Improvement.
The keynote speaker, Beth Houf, presented “From Surviving to Thriving,” emphasizing how educators can improve school culture.
